What Is The Downstate Illinois OSHA Conference?

Wednesday, March 5 was the Downstate Illinois Occupational Safety and Health Day (DIOSH) at the Peoria Civic Center. The event was hosted by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). DIOSH aimed to address safety and health concerns in a variety of industrial circumstances, including construction, combustible dust, fall protection and crane safety. In addition, the conference addressed how management can promote a safety-conscious culture within their facilities.

“The conference will offer safety professionals in downstate Illinois the chance to gain important information, learn about valuable resources and network with hundreds of their peers,” said the director of OSHA’s Peoria office. “Numerous exhibitors will join governmental and nonprofit organizations in demonstrating products designed to make the workplace safe and healthful.”

The conference featured many small workshops on specific safety practices, such as community CPR, posture, roadway safety and fire detection.
