Battelle Riverfront Park is a twenty-five-acre (10 ha) municipal park located in downtown Columbus, Ohio, United States. The park is bordered by West Spring Street to the north, Marconi Boulevard to the south, West Long Street to the west, and Front Street to the east. The park opened to the public on June 1, 2013. The park is named for the Battelle Memorial Institute, a local non-profit research and development organization, which donated $5 million towards the park's construction. The park's design was led by the landscape architecture firm of Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates, who also designed New York City's Brooklyn Bridge Park and Boston's forever-changing Rose Kennedy Greenway. The park's centerpiece is a 1.5-acre (0.61 ha) interactive fountain, which was designed by landscape architecture firm SiteWorks. The fountain features 115 jets that shoot water up to 35 feet (11 m) in the air and is illuminated by more than 1,000 LED lights. The fountain is adjacent to a 2,400-square-foot (220 m2) pavilion, which can be rented for special events. In addition to the fountain, the park features a multitude of other amenities, including a playground, a dog park, a walking/jogging trail, an amphitheater, and a riverfront promenade. Battelle Riverfront Park is also home to the National Veterans Memorial and Museum, which opened in 2018. Battelle Riverfront Park is open daily from dawn to dusk. Admission to the park is free.
