The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the Cleveland Safety Forum have renewed their alliance, in the interest of protecting Ohio workers from dangers like falls and silica exposure.
The voluntary alliance allows both organizations to continue working together, developing effective training programs about the dangers of fall hazards, unsafe crane operations, silica exposure and more.
The alliance works to promote conversations between workers and management on how to create a safe and hazard-free work environment. All parties can participate in forums, round tables and other stakeholder meetings to share information and ideas.
The alliance has been in effect since 2012, and aims to meet its goals through increased training and implementation of successful practices.
Through its Alliance Program, OSHA works with unions, consulates and various other trade and professional organizations nationwide to promote awareness of workplace hazards. By educating workers on their rights and responsibilities, OSHA hopes to prevent unnecessary fatalities, injuries and illnesses in the workplace.
