Four Injured, One Killed in New York Contstruction Accident

5 workers were trapped under debris after a construction accident in New York city on November 8, 2011, according to EmailWire.com. The accident occurred at a Brooklyn construction site when the building collapsed. The New York City Fire Department rescued the workers from the rubble. All five were rushed to the hospital where one died from injuries.

According to Commissioner of the Buildings Department Robert LiMandri, the workers were pouring concrete on the top floor of the building and working their way down.

“…they were pouring concrete in the wrong sequence, and we believe that that is a major contributor to this collapse,” LiMiandri said in a released statement. The Buildings Department launched an internal investigaton as well as the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
