A New Jersey contractor has been fined by the US Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) for a multitude of safety violations, according to NorthJersey.com. OSHA officials inspected a site in jersey where Beno Stucco Systems was applying stucco to a building.
Investigators cited six violations, five of which were repeat violations for infractions related to scaffolding hazards and fall protections. Proposed fines total $61,600.
“This company repeatedly neglected to implement basic, common-sense and legally required safeguards to ensure that scaffolds were erected properly and fall protection was provided for employees working at heights of 10 feet or more,” said OSHA’s Lisa Levy. “OSHA will not tolerate employers jeopardizing the safety and health of workers.”
