Columbus Workers Comp Attorneys Have Questions Following Fatal Construction Accident

Federal investigators are looking at a fatal New Year’s Eve construction accident in which a man fell more than a dozen feet. The US Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) sent officials to the site, which was a house under construction. The worker was not identified but was reported to a be a male in his fifties.

Reports indicate that the worker fell from scaffolding on a stairway, according to San Francisco Fire Department spokeswoman Mindy Talmadge. He remained lying next to the scaffolding for nearly ten minutes before other workers found him. He was rushed to the Lagunda Honda Hospital, where he died from his injuries.

There are some obvious questions surrounding this incident that will need to be answered in the investigation. Did the the construction crew have the proper scaffolding fall protections in place at the site? Why did it take so long for the rest of the crew to notice that the man fell? Negligent parties must be held responsible following a fatal accident like this.
