Schiller Park is a beautiful park located in downtown Columbus, Ohio. The park is named after Friedrich Schiller, a German poet and philosopher. The park has been open to the public since 1891 and features a variety of amenities such as a playground, gazebo, walking trails, and picnic areas. The park also has historical significance as it was the site of the first free speech rally in the United States. In 1852, abolitionist Frederick Douglass spoke at the park to an audience of over two thousand people about his experiences as an enslaved person and his vision for America as a country where all men are free and equal.
