OSHA to Offer Whistleblower Mediation Alternatives
The US Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is testing a new dispute resolution program in Chicago and San Francisco, according to BusinessInsurance.com. The new program, part of OSHA’s Whistleblower Protection Program, aims to offer quick and easy mediation to conflicts. The new policy will notify both the employer and the employees when a whistleblower complaint is filed and offer quick resolutions through an OSHA coordinator.
“OSHA is committed to fair, effective and timely enforcement of the whistleblower laws delegated to us by Congress,” said Assistant Secretary of Labor David Michaels. “Alternative dispute resolution can provide immediate relief and finality to both parties.”
