OSHA Fines Two Ohio Facilites for Safety Violations

The US Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) fined two Ohio companies, according to the Toledo Blade. Elden Lengacher Construction, based in Indiana, faces a $15,400 for safety violations at a Toledo facility. OSHA determined they failed to protect employees by giving them proper eye wear to use while operating a nail gun. According to reports, it is a repeat offense.

OSHA fined American Pennzoil $16,800 for safety violations at their facility in Lima. Pennzoil failed to provide covers and guardrails around pits, tanks, vats and ditches, according to OSHA reports. The inspection also unveiled workers not using face protection, hand protection and other safety equipment. They failed to provide eye flush stations nearby, unsafe trucks were still being used and safety data was not properly maintained and documented. Pennzoil also failed to provide adequate safety training to all their employees.
