The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has fined Mane Inc. $55,000 for six safety and health violations. The violations were found during a September follow-up inspection, according to an OSHA regional news release.
Amongst the six penalties were five serious violations and one repeat offense. The five serious citations all involved Mane Inc.’s failure to properly store and handle flammable liquids and provide adequate respiratory protection. Mane Inc.’s repeat violation was for failing to fit test employees for respiratory protection, which the company was previously cited for in 2010.
“Employers who fail to correct previously noted deficiencies show a blatant disregard for worker’s safety and health,” Bill Wilkerson, OSHA area director in Cincinnati, told the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Public Affairs. “Employers have a responsibility to take all precautions to maintain a healthful and safe workplace.”
