Darla E. Kaikis
Darla E. Kaikis has taken a non-traditional path in her pursuit of representing
injured workers before the Industrial Commission of Ohio. Ms. Kaikis earned
her Bachelor of Science degree in Allied Health Professions from The Ohio
State University in 1987. She graduated from the School of Radiologic Technology
and began working in the health care field for approximately ten years before
pursuing her law career.
While working in the health care field, Ms. Kaikis had the opportunity to
work in the emergency departments at both The Ohio State University and
Riverside Methodist Hospitals in Columbus, Ohio. While pursuing studies
at Capital University Law School, Ms. Kaikis worked at the Ohio Kidney Stone
Center. This unique medical background has proved to be an excellent resource
for the understanding of complex medical issues relating to work place injuries
and occupational exposures.
Ms. Kaikis completed her law degree from Capital University Law School in
1992 and began working as an employer representative for workers’
compensation matters for Cantlon & Associates. By representing employers
before the Industrial Commission, Ms. Kaikis had the opportunity to meet
her law partner, Joe Navin, who recruited her to join the Larrimer &
Larrimer team in 1994.
Ms. Kaikis primarily represents injured workers in the northwest Ohio area,
attending hearings in both the Lima and Toledo Industrial Commission offices.
We have cases in many, if not all, of the counties in this region including
Williams, Fulton, Paulding, Auglaize, Wood, Henry, Hardin, Defiance, Hancock,
Van Wert, Putnam, Allen and Mercer.
Recently, in the spring of 2005, a new Larrimer & Larrimer LLC branch
office was opened in the city of Lima, Ohio with a merger of the Diane W.
French Co. LPA. Ms. Kaikis oversees the operation of the Lima branch office
which allows local, convenient access to our expanding firm.
Attorney Kaikis is a member of the Ohio State and Columbus Bar Associations.
She is also a member of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists.
